Monthly Magazine Hobby Japan 2026.01

January's issue is thick with photos of the submitted OraZaku builds, and flipping through the runner-up entries is honestly the best part. I've read the championship coverage twice already and keep spotting little paint details I missed the first time.

The award-winning builds from the 28th All Japan OraZaku Championship are printed way bigger than I expected, which makes all the custom scribed panel lines easy to study. I've already flipped through the runner photos three times looking for ideas.

Didn't expect the submitted works section to be this thick — pages and pages of entries that didn't win, which is honestly the part I keep flipping back to. The award-winning builds get the glossy shots but the runner-ups show the weird, messy ideas.
