Hobby Japan Mook - Figure JAPAN Maniacs: Biography of the Figure Sculptors (フィギュアJAPANマニアックス フィギュア原型師列伝)

I've been collecting bishoujo figures for years but never knew much about the sculptors behind them, so these long-form interviews were a revelation. Reading the original 2022 serial run all in one place beats hunting down back issues. The questions actually dig into technique instead of just promot

I preordered this expecting maybe a few glossy photos, but it's actually the complete 30-part interview series from 2022, translated well and laid out chronologically. Reading the sculptors talk through their early garage kit days was way more interesting than I thought it'd be.

Finally got my hands on this after waiting for the English reprint, and it's everything I hoped for. The 30-part interview series is exactly why I bought it, and the way it traces the history through the sculptors' own words makes it a proper collector's piece for anyone into bishoujo figures.
